Collier County Public Schools (CCPS) is proud to announce the District has earned an “A” rating for the 2023-24 school year. Prior to the release of school and district grades, the Florida Board of Education adopted a more rigorous grading scale for schools. CCPS is the only district in Southwest Florida to earn an “A” rating and is ranked seventh in the State (out of 67 school districts). CCPS is one of only 22 Florida districts rated as an “A”.

These achievements are especially commendable considering this was the second year of new State assessments, our diverse student population, including a high number of English Language Learners (ELL). Of Florida districts, only one larger in student population scored higher than CCPS, and no district with a comparable percentage of ELL students scored as high as CCPS.

These district and school grades are one indicator of progress based on the second year of the State’s new FAST assessments for Florida’s B.E.S.T. Standards. Last year set a baseline of student performance on the new assessments. This year’s results include all the accountability components, including students’ gain scores in English Language Arts (ELA) and math, and a new standalone third grade measure of achievement for ELA. Of our traditional public schools, 48 of 51 (94%) CCPS schools earned an “A” or “B” rating, and none earned a grade of D or F.

Of note, eight schools improved their grades from a “B” to an “A,” including East Naples Middle School, Golden Gate High School, Herbert Cambridge Elementary School, Lavern Gaynor Elementary School, Lely Elementary School, Manatee Elementary School, Palmetto Ridge High School, and Pinecrest Elementary School. Additionally, two schools, Cypress Palm Middle School and Immokalee High School, improved their grades from a “C” to a “B.”
