Important Update for Seniors - Virtual Commencement Viewing, FAFSA, Bright Futures Volunteer Hours, and Senior Survey

Dear 12th Grade Students and Parents,

We are so proud of your resilience in this challenging time. Even though your celebrations will look different this year, we know you are looking ahead to your future.

Here are a few reminders on key tasks that you can be doing to ensure your transition to your post-high school education and career goals. Additionally, our partners at Champions For Learning are sharing the following resources to support your efforts to be “future ready” and to help every young person have a vision for the future and a plan to accomplish it.

We are excited for our upcoming Class of 2020 Video/Virtual Commencements on Wednesday, June 3rd. Students, parents, extended family members, and guests will have the opportunity to remotely view the video streaming at their school's designated graduation time. This allows for unlimited viewing! Viewing access and information can be found at

While your plans may be changing, you still have time if you have not completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This is the way that you will be considered for federal grants (Pell Grants), aid from the state of Florida, financial aid from the college/university, and access to many private scholarships. Many pathways for education can be funded through financial aid resources—technical college, two-year colleges, and four-year universities. Completing FAFSA is the key!

Champions For Learning is providing virtual/remote volunteer service project opportunities for 12th graders. Click here to read about the project options and instructions. Time is running out! Submit requests to Champions by Friday, May 15th; final projects due to Champions by Friday, May 22nd; and your submission to your school counselor by Tuesday, May 26th, in order to be documented for your Bright Futures.

The CCPS Senior Survey is an important tool to provide the District with information about where to send your final transcript, your post-graduation plans, and your feedback on ways to improve the quality of education in CCPS. Seniors can log into Naviance through Canvas to complete the survey by May 15th.

Please continue to monitor our District website,, as it is updated regularly. Thank you for your continued patience and flexibility while we navigate uncharted territory during these challenging times.
