Congratulations to Golden Gate Elementary School third grader Addison Cruz! Addison won first place in the statewide 2021 Celebrate Literacy Week Writing Contest for Grades 3-5. Students in Grades 3-5 were requested to read a book from Florida’s B.E.S.T. Standards Civics Booklist, draw on information and inspiration from the book, and write a proposal on how they would like to affect change. Addison's essay was about wanting to make a change in the world by helping the homeless, just like Eleanor Roosevelt. Great job, Addison!
