August Primary Will Decide Collier County School Board
The upcoming 2024 Primary Election (August 20) is the only opportunity this election year to vote for the District School Board of Collier County. Two of the five non-partisan school board member seats will be on every ballot—no matter where voters live or their party affiliation. Under Florida law (F.S. 1001.361), the election of school board members is by districtwide vote. This means that Collier County registered voters may vote for any school board candidate up for election regardless of where the voter resides.
Thursday, August 8, is the last day voters can request a Vote-by-Mail ballot to be mailed by the Collier County Supervisor of Elections office for the 2024 Primary Election. Voters requesting a ballot must contact the Supervisor of Elections office by 5 p.m. on August 8. Additional information about the 2024 Primary Election can be found on the Collier County Supervisor of Elections website. Ballots may be requested online at www.CollierVotes.gov/RequestBallot or by calling (239) 252-VOTE (8683).
Returned ballots must be placed in the official ballot return envelope provided, and the voter must sign the Voter’s Certificate on the envelope before mailing in their voted ballot. Voted ballots must be returned to the Supervisor of Elections office by 7 p.m. on Election Day, August 20. The United States Postal Service recommends ballots be mailed seven days prior to Election Day for timely receipt by the Supervisor of Elections office.
