2020-2021 Laws of Life Essay Contest Winners Announced

Congratulations to the following winners of this year's Laws of Life essay competition who were surprised in their classrooms by District representatives and school leaders with the announcement:

  • Wyatt Raymer, Pelican Marsh Elementary School (Elementary Division)
  • Shamara Bornelus, Manatee Middle School (Middle School Division)
  • Alejandra Ramos, Lely High School (High School 9-10 Division)
  • Heidy Melendez-Torres, Seacrest Country Day School (High School 11-12 Division)


The Laws of Life program is a character-building activity that helps young people focus on and develop positive character traits that lead to responsible citizenship and a successful life. The program is open to all student residents of Collier County who are enrolled in grades 4 through 12. Annually, more than 3,000 students compete for a variety of honors and scholarships in four grade-level divisions.


Congratulations, again, to all the contestants and winners from this year's competition! The winning essays will be posted on the District's website and on social media in the coming weeks.
