CCPS Cares: Disaster Assistance Application
Many Collier County Public Schools (CCPS) employees are facing serious challenges with housing and transportation following the destruction of Hurricane Ian. Champions For Learning has joined forces with the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations to secure a $350,000 gift to assist CCPS employees. This gift is part of the $2 million gift from Governor and First Lady DeSantis’ Florida Disaster Fund, divided amongst the six education foundations who are facing similar staffing challenges post Ian.
Below you will find a link to a grant application for hurricane assistance. Applications are due on November 30, 2022. To be eligible, applicants must be a current full or part-time employee for CCPS (including District CCPS Charter Schools). Applicants must demonstrate that they have sustained damage to their home and/or vehicle(s) due to Hurricane Ian. Applicants are required to document all financial information related to insurance claims, possible temporary living situations, and temporary transportation solutions.
The application is in an O365 form; applicants will need their CCPS network login to access it. When filling out the application, it will be helpful to have your employee ID number as well as a copy of your insurance/FEMA determination letters if you have received them.
All applications will be shared with Champions For Learning for review. Champions For Learning is putting together a selection committee composed entirely of dedicated members of the Collier County community to make the award decisions. The committee will utilize a selection rubric designed to identify employees with the greatest needs while removing any opportunity for personal biases.
