Collier County Public Schools (CCPS) is proud to announce the District has once again earned an “A” rating, continuing a successful “A” streak dating back to 2017. CCPS is ranked sixth in the state (out of 67 school districts) and one of only 16 Florida school districts rated as an “A.”
2022-23 school and district grades are an informational baseline due to the State’s transition to the new FAST assessments for Florida’s BEST Standards.
Of our traditional public schools, 47 of 50 (94%) CCPS schools earned an “A” or “B” rating and none earned a grade of D or F. Of note, four schools improved their grades from a “B” to an “A,” including Golden Gate Elementary School, Palmetto Elementary School, Poinciana Elementary School, and Everglades City School. Additionally, three schools improved their grades from a “C” to a “B,” including Avalon Elementary School, East Naples Middle School, and Lely High School. All 31 traditional elementary schools are rated an “A” or “B.”
“Our District’s ‘A’ rating is a testament to the dedication and commitment of our exceptional teachers, administrators, and support staff who work with our students each day. Only five districts earned a higher number of points on the accountability model. None of these districts are as large or diverse as CCPS, specifically in the subgroups of students who are English Language Learners (ELL), migrant, and/or economically disadvantaged. Our Collier County community holds us to a high standard, and it is my honor to report that even with new State standards, new instructional materials, and new State assessments with new cut scores we are meeting and exceeding those expectations.” – Dr. Leslie C. Ricciardelli, Superintendent
