TROPICAL WEATHER UPDATE #5

Last night, we received revised and updated information from the National Weather Service in Miami and Collier County Emergency Management regarding road closures, flooding, and power outages that influenced our decision to close schools this morning.  Weather can be unpredictable, causing adjustments to forecasts and impacting our decisions to open or close schools. Our schools stand ready to support our students and staff impacted by Hurricane Helene. 

While CCPS was closed today for school and work, we have checked all campuses, including athletic facilities, and are confirming CCPS activities will be held as previously scheduled. This includes Friday night football and all scheduled events for Saturday (academic testing, homecoming dances, volleyball, etc.).     

We look forward to tonight’s Friday Night Lights and to welcoming our staff and students back into our schools and district offices on Monday, September 30.
