Tropical Storm Elsa Update #3

TROPICAL STORM ELSA
UPDATE #3
Monday, July 5, 2021

Collier County Public Schools (CCPS) continues to monitor Tropical Storm Elsa very closely. The 5:00pm advisory from the National Hurricane Center shifted the storm slightly eastward and brought the projected path closer to Collier County. The storm’s effects could bring heavy rain to our area, as well as winds that could potentially exceed safe levels for buses to be on the roads.

Therefore, out of an abundance of caution, all school sites within Collier County Public Schools will be CLOSED tomorrow (Tuesday, July 6, 2021).

  • There will be no school for summer school students
  • All summer programs held at CCPS sites will be closed
  • All CCPS curbside and mobile meal distribution sites will be closed
  • All extracurricular activities, including athletic practices, will be canceled
  • All Adult and Community Education classes will be canceled
  • All District leases will be suspended
  • District sites will remain open.

We will make a determination about Wednesday by 4:00pm, tomorrow (July 6, 2021) or sooner

CCPS will continue to monitor the storm's path and collaborate with the National Hurricane Center and Collier County Bureau of Emergency Management for the latest information regarding potential local storm impacts

Please continue to follow us on our District website (collierschools.com) and on social media (@collierschools) for the latest information.
