Practical Nursing Students

PN Students

iTECH wanted to highlight that the practical nursing program will have their pinning ceremony November 9th, 2021. This group of students have overcame many obstacles not only with their studies but with the COVID-19 pandemic. With the weight of the pandemic overflowing hospitals and other partner sites these students still pushed through and participated in clinicals as it is a requirement for practical nursing students to graduate. There are two more hurtles this group has to climb in order to legally sign LPN after their name; achieve their greenlight through Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) and pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). LPN instructor Yvonne McConnel mentioned “the students have grown immensely through our program. Most began without any healthcare experience and are now working as nurses in their clinical rotations. It is a challenging program and the students have mastered skills needed to safety care for patients as entry level Practical Nurses.”
