• Planning the Pathway
  • Welcome to Planning the Pathway! Collier County Public Schools (CCPS) is developing a new five-year strategic plan that will outline the district's major goals for school years 2024-25 through 2028-29. Planning the Pathway allows parents, staff, students, and community members to provide direct input to the process.

Through this process, we will create a new CCPS Strategic Plan together to focus our work over the next five years. Your input is greatly appreciated!

    • In response to feedback from our third question regarding facilities and safety, we heard concerns from students, teachers, and parents about running out of hand soap in the bathrooms. To help improve this issue, Collier County Public Schools’ contracted custodial company is in the process of replacing all soap dispensers with larger ones that hold more soap. Previously, dispensers held 500mL of soap. Those are being replaced with ones that hold 1200mL, which is more than double the soap! All soap dispenser units at each facility should be replaced by the end of January 2024. We are hoping that “running out of soap” or “having no soap” will be less of a problem after the new dispenser units are installed. Thank you for the feedback.

    • Concerns about some schools needing repairs and upgrades were also seen in the feedback. CCPS is happy to share that renovations to the gymnasium and cafeteria are planned for Barron Collier High and will be completed by 2027. In addition, there are two new elementary schools that will be added in the next five years (information on the new schools can be found under Question #1). The full Capital Improvement Plan for FY2023‐2042 can be found HERE. This document consolidates five‐year enrollment projections, school capacity calculations, long-range space needs, funding, and a variety of related information relevant to planning for our schools. Chapter 6 contains detailed information, by school, pertaining to maintenance projects and renovations planned over the next twenty years.
