Advanced Studies & Gifted Learners
Collier County Public Schools strives to provide exceptional educational opportunities that motivate and engage each student. In this way, all students will be prepared for ongoing learning as well as community and global responsibilities.
CCPS ensures high expectations and academic achievement for gifted and high-achieving learners. These students are grouped on the basis of achievement performance. While all CCPS instruction is informed by the Florida Standards, the content, pacing, and expected student outcomes for our advanced and honors sections differ from other courses in the same content area. Differentiation in these courses is based on the students' potential and needs.

Gifted Services
The goals of CCPS are to increase the proficiency of all students by providing them with the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills through learning opportunities and exploration based on the student’s strengths and interests. These opportunities maintain an accountability system that measures student progress toward the following goals:
- Highest student achievement
- Promote personalized learning growth
- Foster college, career, and life readiness
Students who are identified as gifted and/or are high achieving have learning needs that go beyond what is traditionally offered in the regular classroom. The nature of their abilities, demonstrated or latent, requires differentiated learning experiences and opportunities for them to maximize their potential.
Gifted services offer meaningful content, higher-level thinking, and advanced skills to foster the academic achievement of gifted learners. Gifted services are provided as stipulated in the students’ Educational Plan (EP). Gifted services are available in all schools across the district. Students with Gifted EP’s receive two individualized learning goals which are written based on the student’s strengths and interests, as outlined within the Florida’s Frameworks for K-12 Gifted Learners. Gifted identified students are to be provided opportunities to enhance their gifted education plan goals.
