Health Education

Collier County Public School's Health Education Program provides students with opportunities to develop and enhance life skills necessary to make responsible decisions and take positive action for healthy living over their lifetime.

In 2009, Collier County Public Schools adopted Comprehensive Health Education (Board Policy 2417), in accordance with Florida Statutes, Florida Department of Education, and through the Superintendent’s recommendation to the School Board. Our policy includes instruction on the statutory areas listed Florida Statute 1003.42 (n), along with the addition of CPR and AED instruction and skills practice for all students enrolled in Physical Education courses in grades 6-12.

The District School Board of Collier County recognizes the inherent linguistic and cultural diversity of its students. To provide English Language Learners (ELL) equal access to the curriculum, the ELL staff has developed a series of goals that will assist students in the acquisition of the English language to provide instruction in the content areas, and develop a setting where the students can assimilate the American culture while enriching and sharing their own cultural experiences with classmates and teachers.
