Sophie Zakrzewski

Freshman Sophie Zakrzewski delivered a truly remarkable season for the Aubrey Rogers High School girls varsity tennis team. As the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles player, she compiled an outstanding 12-1 singles record while capturing both District and Regional titles. Sophie capped off her incredible debut with a rare achievement—winning the Class 2A State Championship as a freshman. With a performance like this, her future in tennis looks exceptionally bright.

Sophomore Marcus Wilhelm is making a strong impact for the Barron Collier High School track & field team. Specializing in the javelin and discus, he qualified for Regionals in both events and set a new school record in the javelin with a throw of 49.47 meters. Marcus also excels in the classroom, earning a perfect 4.0 unweighted GPA and a 4.42 weighted GPA, showcasing his dedication in all areas.

Chase Stokes

Senior Chase Stokes is a versatile leader for the Everglades City School baseball team. A co-captain who plays third base, shortstop, and pitcher, Chase is batting .375 with an impressive .571 on-base percentage this season. Coaches praise his coachability and growth in just his second year of playing the sport, noting that he has quickly become a positive role model and leader for his teammates.

Golden Gate High (May 2026)

Luna Ramirez

Junior Luna Ramirez has been a steady contributor for the Golden Gate High School girls varsity tennis team. Playing No. 4 singles, she led the team with 20 matches this season and earned Player of the Year honors. Coaches say Luna has more than earned her spot as a future team captain, pointing to her grit, consistency, and unwavering devotion to the game.

Gulf Coast High (May 2026)

Eric Hermanson

Senior Eric Hermanson proved to be a valuable two-way player for the Gulf Coast High School baseball team. At the plate, he batted .329 with 29 RBIs, while on the mound he posted a 2.90 ERA with 56 strikeouts over 53 innings. Coaches credit Eric’s poise and leadership as key to the team’s success. Off the field, he also made his mark as a member of the Sharks drumline, showcasing his well-rounded talents.

Vanniah Clement

Sophomore Vanniah Clement soared to new heights for the Immokalee High School track & field team as a standout long jumper. She captured the 4A District title with a jump of 5.04 meters, placed fifth at Regionals with a leap of 5.54 meters, and earned a spot at the 4A State Meet. Vanniah also played a key role on the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams that advanced to Regionals, highlighting her versatility and impact.

Roberly Gamboa

Senior Roberly Gamboa has been a dedicated multi-event athlete for the Lely High School track & field team. Competing in the 400m as well as the 4x100 and 4x400 relays, he set a personal best of 50.99 in the 400m. Roberly also contributed as a defensive back on the Trojan football team, helping the program finish the season with a winning record, an example of his commitment across multiple sports.

Naples High (May 2026)

Michael Richey-Klein

Senior Michael Richey-Klein has been a standout leader for the Naples High School boys varsity tennis team. As the No. 1 singles player and co-anchor of the top doubles team, he captured both District and Regional titles to earn a berth in the State Tournament. In the classroom, Michael excels with a 5.4 weighted GPA and will continue his academic and athletic career at Lafayette College this fall.

Jenahya Soto

Junior Jenahya Soto is setting the tone for the Palmetto Ridge High School Lady Bears softball team. The team captain and starting shortstop leads the squad with a .443 batting average and a .524 on-base percentage. Known for leading by example, Jenahya is a role model to her teammates both on and off the field. She also shines academically, maintaining a 3.7 unweighted GPA and a 4.4 weighted GPA.
