Early Childhood Education (Pre-K)

The Head Start program is available to children of disadvantaged families and requires pre-approval. This program is offered at multiple sites. Eligible children must turn 3 or 4 years old by September 1 of the current school year.

• Children in foster care
• Families experiencing homelessness or house sharing (living "doubled-up" due to loss of housing, economic hardship, or similar reason)
• Families receiving public assistance (TANF, SSI, SNAP)
• Families earning below the Federal Poverty Guideline

The full day VPK program is limited to space availability and parents are responsible for additional fees. This program is offered at multiple sites. Eligible children must turn 4 years old by September 1 of the current school year.

The half day VPK program is limited to space availability and offers 3-hour morning and afternoon sessions. Eligible children must turn 4 years old by September 1 of the current school year.

• Enrollment is on a first come, first served basis

The Collier County Public Schools offers a VPK Summer Program for children who did NOT participate in a VPK program during the academic school year and who will be entering Kindergarten in August 2025. The goal of the 300-hour summer program is to prepare preschool children for Kindergarten.
