Media Services
Media specialists are an important part of the 21st Century teaching and learning experience at a school. By creating and maintaining quality school library programs, these instructional staff members foster a love of reading and the effective use of information by students and faculty. Specifically, media specialists support teaching and learning by:
- providing intellectual and physical access to materials in a variety of formats;
- providing instruction to stimulate interest in reading and promoting advances in information literacy skills; and,
- involving other educators in designing learning strategies to meet the needs of individual students.
Parents have the right to limit a student's access to materials in the school or classroom library and place restrictions on their child’s account. To place restrictions on student accounts or opt out of services for materials, please send a written notice to the school-based Library Media Specialist or the school Principal.
