    Golisano Children's Museum of Naples (CMON) Volunteer Opportunities:

    1. General CMON Volunteering:Complete our teen volunteer application here if you'd like to be an ongoing CMON volunteer and help make a difference in our community! (https://cmon.org/volunteer/). Hours are determined by your schedule and availability.
    2. The NCH VolunTeen program is a summer volunteer opportunity that provides a glimpse into the world of healthcare and allows students to gain connections within the healthcare system. 
      This is for rising juniors and seniors (current sophomores and juniors.)

    3. Naples Zoo Volunteer Program
      • All volunteers do need to be 16 years of age at the time they start volunteering (they can apply shortly before they are 16 if they note on the application when they will be turning 16)
      • Our mission: To inspire people of all ages to respect, value and help conserve wildlife and our natural world.
      • We offer summer only options as well as weekend shifts during the school year
      • During the summer we require 1 to 2 shifts of around 4 hour each per week, during school only 2 shifts per month
      • Volunteer applications can be found on our website, https://www.napleszoo.org/volunteer, or by emailing volunteer@napleszoo.org, or by scanning the QR Code attached
      • After the volunteer office receives an application, an interview is scheduled.  If accepted, all volunteers attend General Orientation and some will attend additional trainings based on the needs of their assigned volunteer area. Naples Zoo Volunteer Program

    Major volunteer areas:

    • Giraffe Interpreters: sharing fun and amazing information about our five giraffe boys as well as ensuring guests who choose to feed have a fun and enjoyable experience
    • Guest Services: a variety of assignments that all focus on answering guest questions, giving general instructions/directions, and helping with guest traffic flow
    • Park Services: Assist with light cleaning (cleaning viewing windows, wiping signs/picnic tables, checking for litter), keeping an eye on guests (example making sure people know the Zoo doesn’t allow smoking), and some guest directing with staff assistance at Safari Canyon presentations as needed), and similar tasks
    • Camp Counselor in Training (CIT) with our summer Camp WILD program!  Experience the Zoo alongside children ages 5-10 years old, and assist the Camp Counselors in preparing materials, guiding children through the Zoo, helping with games, support learning through art activities, and more! Gain valuable experience working with children and learning about our plant and animal collections. Camp WILD runs Monday – Friday from June 6, 2022 – August 5, 2022.  Morning and afternoon shifts are available.  Applicants MUST provide two letters of reference that are not from a family member with their applications

    6. Kids CAN: 

    KidsCAN is our junior volunteer program comprised of high school students. Founded in 2009, it focuses on community service, leadership development, and fundraising to provide college scholarships for graduating high school seniors who have cancer or have a parent or sibling with cancer.

    Each student is asked to put in 15 hours (can do more) to be part of KidsCAN. Community service or Bright Future volunteers’ hours are given for every hour of participation at meetings and events.

    KidsCAN chapters are located throughout Collier and Lee County Public schools
