Mission Statement:Army Leadership JROTC courses are designed to enable students to develop knowledge of the history, customs, traditions, and purpose of the Army JROTC. The course includes the development of basic leadership skills including leadership principles, values, and attributes. Students should master appreciation for diversity. Active learning strategies are integrated throughout the course with an emphasis on writing skills and oral communication techniques. Financial planning as well as physical fitness, diet, nutrition, healthy lifestyles, awareness of substance abuse and prevention, and basic first aid measures are included. An overview of the globe and geography and basic map reading skills are incorporated. A study of the United States Constitution, Bill of Rights, responsibilities of United States citizens, and the federal justice system is also provided.

Pacing Guides:
The purpose of the Junior Reserve Officer Training Program is to provide a cooperative effort on the part of the U.S. Army and the school to provide students opportunities for total development. The course promotes good citizenship and patriotism through character building activities and a course of military instruction that will benefit the cadet, the community, and our nation. The JROTC learning experience is intended to be useful to students in any future career, military or civilian. Satisfactory completion of the program can lead to advanced rank in the active U.S. Army, Army Reserve, or National Guard. Courses provide ongoing instruction in leadership theory, drill and ceremonies, hygiene and first aid, introduction to maps and map reading, techniques of oral communication, marksmanship and safety, Leadership Education and Training, and physical readiness.
